Visiting Bogor City in West Java Province
Bogor City is part of West Java Province in Indonesia and it has been in the top list of nations’ natural tourism. That means tourists may find numerous types of natural attractions in this region, which are suitable for family recreation and relaxation. People gave another name to it, which the city of rain (Kota Hujan). As the name suggests, the rainfall is considered high due to its topography. The fact is that Bogor is located at the foot of Salak and Gede Mountain, which makes it an area with orographic precipitation.

Not to mention tourists are impressed by the most famous Indonesia's destination called Bogor Botanical Gardens (Indonesian: Kebun Raya Bogor), offering numerous types of attractions for them. Some people even conduct jogging there!
One of the allures of Bogor City is definitely the history. According to the locals, Bogor was the site where the Tarumanegara Kingdom resided in the 5th Century. At the time, many kingdoms took advantage of that site due to an easy access and the presence of excellent natural landscapes especially mountains. Even during the colonial era, the Dutch was impressed with the serenity of the region so they decided to build a vacation home (Bogor Palace) at the time. Later, after the Independence of Indonesia, the city develops well over time and has become one of the best vacation destinations in West Java Province.
Bogor City is famous for its historical sites and parks, so it is suitable for family recreation or those who look for a peaceful vacation. Even tourists can enjoy hiking there due to the presence of Gede and Salak Mountain. For first-timers, though, it is better to come with a local guide so the trip becomes more efficient and fun.

How to Get There
For those coming from Jakarta, they can take any local transportation service and head to Bogor City right away. The distance is 59.9 km, so the trip may take about 1 hour and 9 minutes. As for the best route, make sure to take Jagorawi Freeway (which is also the fastest one).
