Luhur Waterfall in Tenjolaya Sub-District, Bogor City
Some people say that Bogor is the city of a thousand waterfalls. Well, it is not without a reason indeed. Tourists can find tons of waterfalls in Bogor and each of them offers a distinct characteristic. For the example, there is Luhur Waterfall in Tapos I Village of Tenjolaya Sub-District. Also, it resides at the foot of Salak Mountain. In terms of name, “Luhur” means sublime or glorious. The locals gave the name to the waterfall due to its size and amazing appearance, actually. It is also because Luhur is considered the tallest among other falls located such mountain.
In terms of appearance, Luhur Waterfall has the height of 62 meters. Aside from such grandiose size, it has other allures like pristine environment that surrounds the site. Not to mention tourists may find a small natural pond located below the waterfall, featuring a moderate water discharge. Plus, it features a serene river with a calm current. That means tourists can choose either to swim in the natural bath or river! However, there is a new policy given by the management. They have built a fence that surrounds the waterfall, so tourists should get special permission to be able to play water there.

The first thing to know is that tourists should pay the ticket fee before entering the site and the price is a little bit more expensive than other places. Visitors also need to spend some money to pay the parking fee. Despite these expenses, the rewards are quite satisfying! For example, visitors are able to eradicate stresses by spending some time in nature. Tourists do not need to do anything as what they need is a serene nuance and fresh air. In this case, the best time to visit is definitely in the morning when the air is the freshest.
Even though the management has prohibited visitors to play in the natural pond below the waterfall, they have provided something else for tourists. It is none other than the natural waterpark or water boom! The management has built wooden water rides especially sliders for tourists to use during the visit. This explains why the ticket fee is a little bit pricey as the waterfall features such satisfying facilities, no?
Another good feature of Luhur Waterfall is the presence of local eateries and souvenir vendors operating near to the site. These help tourists to get something to eat or drink during the visit later. Also, visitors can spend money to buy unique souvenirs before going back home! Without a doubt, it definitely becomes a nice place to spend a family recreation either with friends or families.

How to Get There
For those coming from Jakarta in Indonesia, they need to take a local transportation service and head to Bogor City right away. Next, they should reach Tenjolaya Sub-District and visit Tapos I Village right away. It also involves a short trekking to get to the waterfall, but it doesn’t take much time. The whole trip may take around 1 hour and 32 minutes, as the distance is 70.9 km actually.
