Warna Puncak Lake in Cisarua Sub-District, Bogor City
One of the best vacation spots in Bogor City is called Warna Lake of Puncak (Indonesian; Telaga Warna Puncak). This Indonesia’s lake is located in North Tugu Village and belongs to Cisarua Sub-District. Also, it is the part of Puncak recreation site – a well-known natural attraction in West Java Province. It is said, according to experts, the lake at least has seven colors which are changeable depending on the surrounding. One of the reasons is the presence of various types of trees located near to the lake, actually.
Aside from sightseeing, tourists can enjoy the atmosphere of the site. As mentioned before, many lush trees grow on this site and the most noticeable ones are Saninten and Puspa trees. Not only tourists can see exotic wild animals like Lutung, gray monkeys, and Surili. Tourists can even take pictures with these animals and feed them comfortably. Despite their naughty behaviors, these monkeys are considered tame. What are others? Various birds are also seen there including swallows!
The next recommended thing that tourists should do in Warna Puncak Lake is to learn its history. It is said the lake was the heritage of Kutatanggeuhan Kingdom. At the time, the king and the empress conduct a hermitage near to the lake and pray for an offspring. Fortunately, months later, the empress got pregnant! How to Get There
From Jakarta City, tourists’ main destination is none other than Bogor City. Next, they must visit Cisarua Sub-District and head to North Tugu Village right away. The last thing to do is to conduct a short trekking to reach Warna Lake. This whole trip may take about 2 hours and 32 minutes as the distance is 81.6 km, actually. As for the fastest route, it is definitely Jagorawi Freeway.
